This policy explains what data StartupAPI collects, why, and how we handle it. We collect only what we need to operate the Service, bill accurately, and keep accounts secure.
Account and email data
We store your email address and account settings to create and secure your account, verify your email, and send account and billing notices.
IP, device, and security logs
We log IP addresses, request metadata, and security events (such as sign-in attempts) to protect accounts, enforce rate limits, and detect abuse.
API usage and billing records
We record API usage (such as token counts, timestamps, and computed cost) and billing history so you can see what you spent and so we can charge your prepaid service credits accurately.
Payment identifiers from Razorpay
Payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive payment identifiers and status (such as payment and order references) needed to confirm a payment and credit your account. We do not intentionally store full card numbers, CVV, OTP, or UPI PIN — that sensitive payment data is handled by the payment processor, not by StartupAPI.
Service providers and payment processors
We share the minimum necessary data with infrastructure providers, the payment processor (Razorpay), and the underlying AI/API providers required to fulfill your requests. These parties process data under their own terms and privacy policies.
Fraud and security use
We may use account, usage, and payment metadata to prevent fraud, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
Retention
We retain account, usage, and billing records for as long as your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
